Rail Service
Virginia Railway ExpressTrain
Virginia Railway Express (VRE) provides commuter rail service from the City of Fredericksburg to the Northern Virginia suburbs; including Alexandria, Crystal City, and downtown Washington, D.C. along the I-66 and I-95 corridors.

The Fredericksburg Station is also a designated stop for Amtrak. Amtrak has 21,000 route miles in 46 states, the District of Columbia and three Canadian provinces. The Virginia Railway Express has a cross honor agreement with Amtrak. This allows VRE multi-ride passengers the ability to use the Amtrak trains for commuter travel.
