Foster to Adopt Program
The Fredericksburg Resource Families Foster to Adopt program is based on a concurrent planning model. Concurrent planning involves resource families committing to reunification of the child (ren) to the biological family, while also committing to adopt the child (ren) if reunification cannot occur.

Requirements to Foster
In addition to the 30 hour pre-service training, there is also a checklist of required information for the licensure of all prospective foster/adoptive parents.

Resource Families
Foster care is temporary substitute care arranged for children who cannot remain in their homes due to abuse and/or neglect. Through the Fredericksburg Department of Social Services, Fredericksburg Resource Families offers a Foster to Adopt program.
