Analysis of Impediments Survey

Citizen Participation on Survey Needed

The City of Fredericksburg is committed to creating an environment of fair and equal housing for everyone. We are asking for help from residents to learn more about possible discrimination within the city. The City Community Planning and Building Department has released a survey about Fair Housing in Fredericksburg on the City website. The “Analysis of Impediments Survey” is live on now through mid-November. Our hope is to learn more about the housing characteristics from our citizens living within the city. The survey will help to guide staff’s “Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice” report, which is a federally mandated document that helps guide community development and helps identify housing needs within the city. Public participation is the key component of this report, and we would love to hear from the citizens of Fredericksburg!

In the event that community planning staff identifies issues within the city, we would incorporate solutions in the updated Consolidated Plan for next year. Another way that completing this Analysis of Impediments helps is as a supporting document for the Community Development Block Grants, which the City uses for the housing improvement programs available to citizens within Fredericksburg. Please consider spending a few moments to complete the survey, and helping Fredericksburg continue to thrive.

The survey can be found on the City of Fredericksburg homepage and on the Community Planning and Building Department at this link: It will only take a few minutes of your time but help make a big impact on the future of our housing efforts here in the City. For more information please feel free to call Community Planning and Building Department at 540-372-1179.
