City Council 2036 Vision: September Quarterly Priorities Update

The Mayor and City Council adopted the updated Council Priorities for FY 2019-2021 as a three-year plan under the categories of the eight desired future states in April 2019. The staff recently updated their progress to Council of these Priorities in the September 2020 quarterly update at a work session. The percentage of progress has moved from 51% in May 2020 to 60% in September 2020. These Priorities are meant to advance toward Council’s 2036 Vision for our city’s bright future and include enhanced parks and more trails; an employment epicenter; distinct neighborhoods; a strong respect for our history; excellent education and training options; cultural vibrancy and diversity; advanced technology; and forward-thinking transportation solutions.

Council will continue to adopt a three-year plan every two years at their biennial offsite planning meeting with a promised two-year check in and restart. Under this prescribed path the work plan is never 100% complete, but is always moving forward as Council priorities (and our environment) progresses and evolves to accomplish the 2036 Vision.
