Small Area Plan Meeting for Downtown Area

October 8 - 12 the City will hold a five-day charrette to get comments from interested citizens and stakeholders to create a vision and plan for the tercentennial in 2028 of Downtown Fredericksburg and the surrounding neighborhoods.  At 7:00 p.m.on Monday, October 8, there will be an introductory session.  The concluding session will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12. 

The charrette will be held in the former Planters Bank lobby at 1001 Princess Anne Street (former Fredericksburg Area Museum).  A charrette is a focused workshop in which designers, property owners, public officials, citizens and other stakeholders work together to brainstorm and envision the future of a community through a variety of mapping and other visual exercises.  Streetsense, the City’s land use planning consultant, as well as transportation planners and landscape architects, will be on-site for the entire five days.  The charrette will be open to the public whom are invited to visit, comment, and participate in the visioning process.  More details will be made available as they are finalized.
