Community Collaboration Meetings and Phase 1 Report

The Phase 1 public report details major themes extracted from the interviews and focus groups audited, to ascertain what narratives (stories) in the context of the slave auction block, the community of Fredericksburg is currently telling.

Community collaboration continues in Phase 2 with a focus more specifically on the slave auction block through a series of public brainstorming sessions.  Round 1 meetings were held on August 23 and 24 and reviewed the Phase 1 report and began the discussions on what the reinterpretation of the slave auction block may look like based on these findings.

Meetings were held and well attended on September 24 and 25 at Walker Grant Center. These sessions focused on design of the area around the auction block.

See the link below for more background and the Phase 1 report.
