[ARCHIVED] New FXBG trash carts will be delivered to city trash customers

New Carts for City Trash Customers - Fredericksburg Public Works is upgrading the trash carts being used by City of Fredericksburg trash customers. The new carts have the FXBG logo stamped on the side and are microchipped for location and inventory control. (The recycling carts are not part of this exchange. Recycling carts will be replaced at some time in the future.)

Customers should expect the new trash carts to arrive on their normal weekly trash collection day. Deliveries will begin with Monday customers on October 30th.  Here is what we are asking customers to know and how they can help with a smooth cart trade out:

  1. Place your old cart out for regular collection to be emptied by the regular compactor trash truck crew.
  2. A different city truck will follow and remove the old cart after it’s been emptied.
  3. New carts will be delivered by the cart manufacturer in a separate delivery.

Due to collection, removal, and delivery variables, the new cart may arrive before the old cart is emptied and/or removed. Customers are asked to leave old trash carts on the curb for removal. When your new cart arrives, please store it off the curb and use for all future collections.

Customers may call the Public Works Department at 540-372-1023 to report any issues with the cart exchange.
