Due to the popularity of the shelter the 4 hour blocks are as follows
 9am-1pm and 3pm-7pm during the summer hours which
are from April 1st-October 31st


Rental of entire park
is $500 deposit plus $500 rental fee per day. Entire park rentals require liability insurance of at least $500,000.00 for the period covering the event. 

Alcohol usage for the entire park $500 deposit and $100 fee.
For any alcohol usage an
VA ABC permit is required and special liability special event policy in
 the amount of $1 million dollars listing the City of Fredericksburg as the name insured.
 



Dorothy Hart Community Center
Requests must be 2 weeks prior requested date.
Deposit is due at the same time request is submitted to hold the date. 
Remaining fees are due no later than 2 weeks prior to reservation.

Alcohol usage
: $200 deposit, $200 fee plus a VA ABC permit and special event liability insurance in
 the amount of $1 million dollars effective the date of the event and listing the City of Fredericksburg as the insured.

This building is in use most of the year due to our own programs with our department and can only be reserved
6 months ahead of desired date.
Days the center is not available : Earth Day Festival in April, Soapbox Derby Day in June,
 Thanksgiving Day & Weekend, 1st Saturday of December, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & weekend
and New Years Eve. 
 



Old Mill Park
Requests must be 2 weeks prior requested date.

Shelter 1: size 46'x41', 8 picnic tables, 1 grill pit, 4 outlets, 3 trash cans and close to the horseshoe pits, restrooms and playground
Shelter 2: size: 54'x29', 10 picnic tables, 2 grills, 4 outlets, 3 trash cans, additional electric if needed, a water spigot, and close to the river and canoe boat launch
Shelter 3: size 50'x23', 10 picnic tables, 2 grills, 5 outlets, 4 trash cans, additional electrical if needed

Due to the popularity of the shelter the 4 hour blocks are as follows

Rental of the Entire park is $1,000 deposit and $1,000 a day. Any rentals of the entire park will require proof of liability insurance of at least $500,000.00 for the period covering the event.

Alcohol usage for the entire park $500 deposit and $100 fee. 
Alcohol usage for 1 shelter is $100 deposit and $100 fee 
Alcohol usage for 2 shelters/ open space usage $200 deposit  and $200 fee

Old Mill Park is not available on the following days:
Earth Day Festival in April, the 4th of July, other days that the entire park is rented for Private Events. 



Dixon Pool
Request must be made 2 weeks prior to requested date.
Upon approval all fees must be paid in full.

The rates are the basic fees for usage of the park but depending on the event fees may vary. 
The park is the same location as the city's Farmers Market
which is very popular and busy on
 Saturdays

April through October from 6am-2pm. 



Memorial Park
(also known as Kenmore)
Request must be made 2 weeks prior to requested date. 
Upon approval fees must be paid in full.
Deposit  Rental Fee 
 $50 $25 

The rates are the basic fees for usage of the park but depending on the event fees
 may vary. 
This is for reserving the open grass area on Kenmore Ave in the park.




Riverfront Park 

Request must be made 2 weeks prior to requested date. 
Upon approval fees must be paid in full.

FAQ about rentals ?

How do I go about holding a run, concert or other event in one of the parks? 
We recommend starting by going here - use the toolkit and submitting a special event application
with the city.
 


Are the deposits refundable? 
Yes, as long as you arrive on time, leave on time, there is no damage or issues and the area is cleaned up
from your rental. 

Am I consider a resident? 
You are a resident if you live or own property in zip code 22401. 
 Old Mill Park ONLY- Stafford residents will be charged resident rental rates. 


Can I have my event catered?
Yes, but they have to proper permits with the city.

Can I have a bounce house at my event? 
This varies by park and the size of the bounce house.
 Additional fees and insurance may be required.

Can I have a live band or DJ? 
This varies by park or facility. 

Signage for Walks Guidelines
Notification for upcoming walk/run on the heritage trail/ canal path –
 Signs need to be posted every quarter mi only 10 days in advance of the walk/run.
They need to be taken down immediately after the event.
