Plat Submission & Review / Approval
No person shall divide, subdivide, or cause a subdivision to be made of any tract of land located within the corporate limits of the City except in compliance with the standards set forth within this article and the requirements set forth within Section 72-25 of the Unified Development Ordinance.  Procedures regarding the subdivision process can be found in UDO Procedures Manual, Section N.

Preliminary Plat Application
A preliminary plat shows the proposed layout of the subdivision. Preliminary plats are required for major subdivisions.

Construction Plan Application
A Construction Plan is a detailed drawing delineating an overall development scheme or proposal on a lot as well as off-site improvements (e.g., infrastructure), if appropriate. Submission of a Construction Plan follows the approval of a Preliminary Plat for a Major Subdivision.

Final Plat Application
A Final Plat is prepared by a licensed surveyor or engineer and shows specific boundary, easement, and property corner information.  Approval of the final plat is granted only on the completion or installation of all required improvements or the posting of performance guarantees ensuring the completion or installation of such improvements. Final plat approval and recordation is required before lots can be sold or transferred.
