Open Play Pickleball

Looking to have fun playing Pickle ball with other local participants? Open play is held weekly (weather permitting) at Memorial (Kenmore) Park from 8:30am-12:30pm. Open to Beginners/ Intermediate/ Advance. This format will be evaluated, and changes will be made accordingly. 




Isshinryu Karate
8yrs – Adult 
This program is for adults and children alike to help develop coordination, muscle tone, and self-confidence.  The instructor does more than teach the basic karate movements; he also works on discipline and respect for others.  It’s a fun, inexpensive way to experience all the value of a martial arts program.  And parents, you can take it with your kids!  Location: Dorothy Hart Community Center

Eagle Claw Kung Fu
14yrs - Adult
Kung Fu is one of the most well-known terms for Chinese self-defense. Translated as “skill in action,” kung fu is an avenue to strengthen the body, the mind, and to focus one’s energy. Eagle Claw kung fu is best known for its leg strength, fluidity, dynamic jumping and kicking, and its 108 joint-locking techniques. Students can expect to be challenged through a workout of dynamic stretching and kung fu basics that include punching, kicking, maneuvering, and jumping. This class is taught in a traditional martial arts format, so students will also learn Chinese martial arts tradition, protocols, and history. Student should come to class wearing loose-fitting pants, a plain t-shirt, and lightweight shoes.  Instructor: Wolfram Birkenbeul-Hesse Location: Dorothy Hart Community Center

Adult Flag Football 7 v 7
18 yrs – Adult
Do you have a passion to play football? The City of Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation & Events is happy to introduce Spring Flag Football. All games will be held at Old Mill Park. Each team will need a minimum of 7 players but no more than 14 players maximum. You must be 18 years or older to play. The age determination date will be June 15. The season will consist of 8 games plus playoffs.  Registration begins February 13 for city residents and February 20 for non-city residents. Deadline to register is March 20th. SPECIAL REGISTRATION REQUIRED. NO ONLINE REGISTRATION.
