City and Public Utility Review Committee

Purpose
City and Public Utility Review Committee (CPURC)

The City and Public Utility Review Committee is established to review and approve utility infrastructure in public right of way or on other city property within of the Fredericksburg Historic District per section 66-191 of the City Code.

The Committee is comprised of:

Architectural Review Board representative

Planning Commission representative

Building Official

Community Planning & Building Department director

Public Works Department director         

Appeals

Appeal of a CPURC decision is to City Council.

Meetings

  • When applications are pending, regular meetings of the Committee shall be held on an as needed basis. If a scheduled meeting is cancelled due to inclement weather, or other unforeseen reason, the backup date will be the following regularly scheduled Committee meeting date and time, or a date and time agreed upon by the majority of the Committee.  When a meeting falls on a legal holiday, the meeting shall be held on the following Wednesday unless otherwise designated by the Chairman or by a vote of the Committee.

Meetings shall begin at 11:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of a month, when business is pending.

2018 CPURC Filing Deadlines

 


Applications
Applications are submitted to the Department of Public Works.   Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Filing deadlines are established to allow sufficient time to process applications and comply with
property owner notification requirements.

The applicant or his or her representative must be present to answer questions from
the Committee at such hearings.
