Restricted License
 The Clerk's office cannot help you with preparing or correcting your file.
 It is illegal. Va Code 19.2-392.2
 



1). Restrictions to file: 


            a. Granted Restricted License at Sentencing 
                                        OR 
            b. Not Granted a Restricted License at Sentencing 


A. If you were granted a Restricted License at Sentencing: 

1). Start a Payment Plan

2). Complete and file: 
Restricted License Packet 

3). File: Customer Compliance Summary: no older than 2 weeks (available at the DMV

4). Letter from your employer on Company Letterhead stating: 
        a. Days of week worked 
        b. Hours worked 
        c. If you must drive during work 
        d. Travel time from work and home
        e. Company Address 



B. If you were not granted a Restricted License at Sentencing: 

1). Start a Payment Plan

2). Motion for the Court date if you were not granted a license at sentencing
        a. Motion days are the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month
        b. Appear at 9:00am

2). Complete and file: 
Restricted License Packet 

3). File: Customer Compliance Summary: no older than 2 weeks (available at the DMV

4). Letter from your employer on Company Letterhead stating: 
        a. Days of week worked 
        b. Hours worked 
        c. If you must drive during work 
        d. Travel time from work and home
        e. Company Address

*Payment of filing and copy fees may be made by cash, personal check, certified check, money order or, with a VISA/MASTERCARD, credit/debit cards. Make checks and money order payable to: Clerk of Court. The service fee for using VISA/MASTERCARD, credit /debit will be 4%.
