Originals of all records presented on the Historic Court Records website are available for research at the Fredericksburg Circuit Court Archives located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Photocopies of the records may be ordered by mail.

The Fredericksburg Circuit Court Archives, located at 701 Princess Anne St. (Suite 100), Fredericksburg, Virginia, is normally available for research at the following times:

Monday through Friday:
8:30 a.m. to 12 noon
1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Archives is closed on weekends and all federal and state holidays.

Access to Archive records is guaranteed through confirmed appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling 540-361-4098.

Limited staffing occasionally leaves our office without qualified personnel to assist you with document retrieval, in which event access to archived records will not be possible. Visits without confirmation may result in a wasted trip. ALWAYS CALL FIRST!

Cell phones, computers, recording devices, cameras, etc. are prohibited in the new court facility and, subsequently, in the Archives.

Public parking is available in the Sophia Street Parking Garage (enter the garage from Wolf Street). The first three hours of parking in the garage are free.

Public parking may also be available on nearby streets (usually with a 2 hour limit) and in city parking lots located along the river about 3 blocks from the Archives.
