The
Fredericksburg Fire Department supports the delivery of Emergency
Medical Services (EMS) in cooperation with the Fredericksburg
Volunteer Rescue Squad. Our department staffs two Advanced
Life Support ambulances between the hours of 5:30 am and 6:00 pm,
Monday through Friday. Medic 2 is owned by the Fire Department and
Medic 1 is loaned to the us by the Rescue Squad as a joint venture
to support the community with EMS while the volunteers are at work.
All
of our employees at a minimum, are certified as Emergency Medical
Technician - Basics and we provide additional first response
services from fire trucks when ambulances are delayed or additional
support is needed. Many of our fire trucks are also staffed with and
are capable of delivering Advanced Life Support care to severely
injured or sick individuals.
