Fully operational in July 2007, the new Police Headquarters meets the critical space needs of the FPD for the next 15 years and provides modern technology and facilities for Emergency 911 communications.
Developed on a 16-acre lot west of Hugh Mercer Elementary School on Cowan Boulevard, the facility is nearly 35,000 square feet. Among the many amenities for employees to enjoy are a fully equipped fitness facility, spacious locker room and a well-appointed employee lounge.
The facility also houses a large multi-purpose room equipped with enough outlets and computer feeds to accommodate up to 40 workstations for training, press conferences or meetings. This new facility also has the operational capability of acting as the Emergency Operations Center for the City in the event of a man-made or natural disaster.
