Enjoy the City's Athletic fields, jogging and walking trails, and our Dixon Park Pool!

Dixon Park Jogging/Walking Trail for public use during the park's operational hours. The trail is hard-paved and designed for joggers and walkers alike.

Look for the kiosk near the back of the park. The starting line will help you monitor your distance. Four different trail options ranging in length from 1/4 mile to 1 mile are marked by painted squares.

Dixon Street Park Project plans continue...

City Council approved the master plan for the new recreation complex on November 13, 2002. The master plan has three phases starting with the development of outdoor athletic fields and the associated infrastructure and amenities.

Phase I - Complete. Includes fields, roads, pathways, restrooms, a wetland protection and nature area, playgrounds, shelters, parking, and a maintenance facility. Grand opening was September 2005. Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation currently hosts their youth soccer and field hockey programs at this new athletic facility.

Phase II - Complete. The Ground Breaking for the new pool was held on September 29, 2005.  Includes aquatic facility and parking areas.

Phase III - Still being planned. Will include the construction of a comprehensive, multi-purpose Community Center.
