Commissioner of the Revenue

 

Tax Exempt Businesses

 

All exempt businesses must have an "Application for Fredericksburg City Business License" on file in the Commissioner of the Revenue's Office.

 

A business in the City of Fredericksburg may be exempt from Business License Tax if the following applies:

  1. The business is applying for a Contracting/Construction Work Business License, the job in the City is less than $25,000, and a copy of the Business License from a different locality is on file in the Commissioner of the Revenue's Office.
  2. The business has been granted not for profit status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and a copy of its determination letter is on file with the Commissioner of the Revenue's Office.
