The Public Works Department provides project design, contract administration, and construction supervision and inspection for various public works projects. It also oversees the street lighting, sidewalk maintenance, tree trimming, street maintenance, and the Public Works Capital Improvements Program.  For an overview of our services, please click here.

Residency requirements: You must live within City boundaries and your home zip code must be 22401 to receive services. Many homes that are not actually within the City limits have a Fredericksburg mailing address.  If your zip code is 22407 or 22408, you live in Spotsylvania County.  If your zip code is 22405 or 22406, you live in Stafford County.
